FREELAND, Mich. – Kyle Kansman, a senior captain on the Alma men's soccer team, earned recognition Friday as a top student-athlete by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with his selection to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-America and Scholar All-Region teams.

Kansman, who earlier this month was honored as a second-team All-Central Region performer for his efforts on the field in 2016, was a first-team Scholar All-North/Central Region selection. Eligible for Scholar All-America status with his first-team nod, Kansman was then named a third-team Scholar All-American by the NSCAA.

Kansman's academic honors include earning CoSIDA All-District accolades last month. He is a pre-veterinary and Spanish double major at Alma with a 3.80 grade-point average.
