The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Albion midfielder Kyle DeCamp its Defensive Player of the Week in men's lacrosse for games played through April 26.
DeCamp, a freshman from Howell (Howell HS), won 80 percent of his faceoffs (22 of 27) and scooped up 20 ground balls as Albion nailed down its first MIAA men's lacrosse championship with two victories. He had 11 ground balls and won 10 of 14 faceoffs in a 19-8 victory over Hope, then nabbed nine ground balls and won 12 of 13 faceoffs in a 20-6 win over Alma that clinched the outright MIAA title. DeCamp is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and in his career.
