The third week of MIAA men's golf action included the second MIAA Jamboree as well as weekend tournaments for four programs. Hope was victorious twice on the week; Trine's Todd Mieske gave the Thunder their second MIAA Jamboree medalist in as many outings.

• At the MIAA Jamboree Sept. 13, the top four teams of the field were separated by just four strokes; Hope prevailed for the second time in as many Jamborees, edging the field with a seven-over 295 to overtake Kalamazoo by one stroke, Trine by two, and Calvin by three. Trine's Todd Mieske (Fr., Owosso, Mich.) was the medalist, turning in a five-under 67 to win by three strokes. Hope's Josh Gibson (So., Grandville, Mich.) and Kalamazoo's Nick Ludka (So., Saginaw, Mich.) tied for second with two-under 70s.

• At Adrian's Irish Hills Intercollegiate Invitational Sept. 16-17, again Hope prevailed, carding an impressive team score of four-under 572. All five Hope golfers finished in the top 10, paced by Gibson and his medalist effort of a five-under 139. Teammate Winton Munch (Sr., Traverse City, Mich.) tied for second with Calvin's John Van Noord (Jr., Troy, Mich.), as each shot three-under 141 for the two-day event.

The third MIAA Jamboree is set for Wednesday, Sept. 21 at The Medalist Golf Club, hosted by Albion.
