Kalamazoo Named GCAA Academic National Champions

NORMAN, Okla. – Last week, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the honorees for their All-Academic Team award. Kalamazoo led the nation with their cumulative team GPA 3.739 to earn the honor as the GCAA's Academic National Champions for NCAA Division III.

Aiding in the team's academic effort was Phil Ritchie, who was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Wednesday (July 26). Ritchie was the lone MIAA representative on the elite listing.

Joining Kalamazoo on the academic listing was Trine; both teams were among 187 teams across all divisions to be honored.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
