• Adrian battled past two MIAA last week to emerge atop the league standings with a 4-0 mark. In a face-off against the last remaining unbeaten teams in league play just three games in, the Bulldogs surpassed Trine on the road in overtime Jan. 10, 74-67. Jeremy Kalonji (So., F, Fort Wayne, Ind.) poured in 25 points for Adrian. On Saturday, the Bulldogs defeated Hope, 74-63; Justin Webster (Sr., F, Adrian, Mich.) had team bests of 16 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists.
• Olivet moved into second place and out of a four-team logjam for third in the early MIAA season with two conference wins. The Comets posted a 75-58 win over Kalamazoo Jan. 10, bolstered by a game-high 25 points from Eldridge Mason (Sr., G/F, Southfield, Mich.). Olivet then followed with a dramatic 89-88 win at Alma Jan. 13. Tracy Edmond (Jr., G, East Lansing, Mich.) connected on a layup with 4.1 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Comets past Alma; Jalen Adams (Sr., G, Saginaw, Mich.) led all scorers with 34 points.
