• Adrian pushed their winning streak to eight games with a 2-0 week to start MIAA play. The Bulldogs started with a 76-67 win over NCAA Tournament team Calvin Jan. 3 and followed with a 72-65 win at Albion Jan. 6. Justin Webster (Sr., F, Adrian, Mich.) poured in a career-high 32 points while adding a game-best eight rebounds against Albion.

• Alma split their opening week, which included a 78-43 win at Kalamazoo Jan. 3. All five Alma starters scored seven or more points in a balanced attack; defensively, the Scots held Kalamazoo to 1-of-14 shooting from three-point range.

• Calvin rebounded from their MIAA-opening loss to Adrian with an 80-63 victory at Alma Jan. 6. The Knights shot 53 percent in the second half to hold the Scots in check.

• Hope notched an 86-77 win over Kalamazoo Jan. 6. In that game, Tedy Ray (Jr., F, Fort Wayne, Ind.) had team-bests of 24 points and eight rebounds.

• Olivet started MIAA play with a 79-61 win against Albion Jan. 3. Jalen Adams (Sr., G, Saginaw, Mich.) had game-highs of 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Comets.

• In two road outings last week, Trine captured two MIAA victories to set up a first-place battle with Adrian Jan. 10. Trine outlasted Hope in the MIAA opener Jan. 3, 80-75, bolstered by a 21-point performance from Langston Johnson (Jr., G, Elkhart, Ind.). The Thunder then defeated Olivet Jan. 6, with Maurice Hunter (So., F, Monroe, Mich.) and Myles Copeland (Jr., F, Perrysburg, Ohio) each notching 17 points and 11 rebounds.
