Adrian's Webster Garners National Honors for Standout Performances

After being named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Monday, Adrian men's basketball player Justin Webster (Sr., F, Adrian, Mich.) earned two weekly honors at the national level.

On Monday, Webster was one of five players selected to th3 D3hoops.com National Team of the Week, which honors players at each position. Then, on Tuesday, Webster was selected as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's NCAA Division III Player of the Week.

Webster was a key factor in a 2-0 week for Adrian, scoring a career-high 29 points to go with 12 rebounds in the Bulldogs' 66-53 upset victory over No. 3 UW-Whitewater Dec. 8. He then kept up his pace the following day in an 86-73 win against Wisconsin Lutheran, notching 28 points with 12 rebounds.

For the week, Webster shot 65.5 percent from the field (19-of-29), including 2-of-2 from three-point range. 

Webster is the first-ever MIAA player to earn National Player of the Week honors from the USWBA since the award's inception in 2014. Webster's honor from D3hoops.com is the first for an MIAA men's basketball player since Feb. 22, 2016, when Olivet's Lee Gardner was selected for the national award.
