2017-18 MIAA Year In Review - Men's Basketball
Posted: Apr 13, 2018
Among the highlights from the 2017-18 season:
-
Olivet ended a 45-year drought as MIAA Champions
by sharing the regular season title with Hope; the Comets earned the top seed and hosted the MIAA Tournament.
-
Hope avenged their regular season loss at Olivet
in the 2018 MIAA Tournament title game to earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Championship with a 106-94 victory. In the national tournament,
Hope advanced to the Second Round
after a 93-91 win over Augsburg in the opening round.
- Olivet's Jalen Adams was named the MIAA Most Valuable Player to headline the
league's all-MIAA team
; Adams went on to gather
All-America honors
and participated in the
2018 NABC Reese's All-Star Game
.
- National honors were earned by Adrian mid-season after their upset victory over No. 3 UW-Whitewater in December; the team was named the
NABC Division III Team of the Week
, while
Justin Webster was twice honored nationally
for his efforts.
