OLIVET, Mich. - The 2018 MIAA Men's Basketball Tournament title game Saturday will feature the co-champions from the regular season after two tight semifinal tilts. The winner Saturday night will earn an automatic berth to the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

After trailing by eight to start the game and as much as 14 early in the game, Hope (17-9) buckled down to shoot 53.3 percent in the second half on the way to their 81-65 win over Adrian (17-9) Friday night. Hope's Jason Beckman led all scorers with 26 points to go with seven assists, while Preston Grainger had 10 of his 14 points after the halftime break for the Flying Dutchmen. Dante Hawkins went 8-for-8 from the free throw line to notch 15 points for Hope, adding six assists.

Olivet 78, Trine 71 | PDF box score

The host Comets battled through nine lead changes and a 14-point deficit to defeat Trine in Friday's second semifinal, 78-71. Jalen Adams had 22 of his game-high 30 points in the first half while adding 18 rebounds for Olivet; fellow Comet Tracy Edmond added 20 points. As a team, Olivet (16-10) benefited from 46 points in the paint to dominate the interior, compared to just 26 for Trine (12-14).
