Nine MIAA Student-Athletes Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nine student-athletes representing a pair of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association institutions were honored Tuesday (July 27) by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for their excellence in competition and in the classroom.

Albion College’s Jordan Herron, Jared Larr, Travell Oakes, and Jason Zahran along with Alma College’s DJ Beckman, Ethan Woelke, Quinton Cook, JR James, and Chase Fairchild were named to the NABC’s 2015-16 Honors Court.

Award winners as established by the NABC must be a junior or senior academically with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 at the completion of the 2015-16 academic year. Student-athletes must have completed one year at their current institution, and the team must compete at the NCAA Division I, II, or III levels and have an NABC member coach.
