GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Senior guard Dakota Kazen produced the game-winner with a leaning baseline jump shot with 1.1 seconds left as Albion College walked out of Van Noord Arena with a 67-66 victory over Calvin College.

It was Albion's second victory over Calvin in nine tries at the Van Noord Arena and Albion's first regular season sweep of its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival since 2008.

First-year guard Jaylin Fordham hit 3-of-4 from 3-point range in scoring 13 points as the Britons led 39-24 at halftime.

Albion led 59-44 on Fordham's 3-point basket with 7 ½ minutes to play.

Calvin dialed up from long distance – Michael Wilks and Jordan Daley combined for a trio of 3-point shots – and from the free throw line (hitting all seven shots) to wrestle a 66-65 lead with 18 seconds left.

"We made mental lapses at times and Calvin took advantage of it," Albion Head Coach Jody May said. "It wasn't necessarily lack of effort."

Albion shot 40 percent from field goal range, however, the team was 47 percent from 3-point range. Fordham finished 4-of-5 from 3-point range for 19 points. Jordan Herron contributed 14 points and seven rebounds. Corey Wheeler led the Britons off the bench with 10 points.

Calvin's Daley led all players with 32 points.

With the victory, the Britons climbed back to.500 at 10-10 overall and are now 5-4 in conference play.

The Britons will look to rise above the .500 mark Saturday when they travel to Kalamazoo College for a 3 o'clock game.
