Five Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football student-athletes were recognized Nov. 16 for their academic and athletic success with their selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District NCAA Division III District 6 and District 7 teams.

Adrian's David Nutter (Sr., RB, Genoa, Ohio), Alma's Lars Murray (Sr., WR, Coleman, Mich.), Hope's Brandon Ellsworth (Sr., DE, Webberville, Mich.), Kalamazoo's David Vanderkloot (Sr., OL, Bannockburn, Ill.), and Trine's Evan Wyse (Sr., QB, Archbold, Ohio) were voted to their respective All-District teams and are now eligible for Academic All-America accolades.

Nutter boasts a 3.48 grade-point average in exercise science and was part of Adrian's rushing attack in 2017. Nutter finished his senior season with 925 yards and seven touchdowns to rank second on the team in both categories.

Murray finished second for Alma in both receptions (18) and yards (226) in seven contests. In the classroom, Murray has a 3.89 GPA in business administration.

Ellsworth, who was named the MIAA Pete Schmidt Award winner earlier this month, owns a 3.87 GPA in biology. Ellsworth helped Hope to an 8-2 record on the year with 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

CoSIDA's NCAA Division III District 6 includes Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin; District 7 encompasses Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Members of CoSIDA from the district vote on Academic All-District honors. Student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible.
