• Olivet lifted the MIAA regular season title trophy Saturday after defeating Trine 44-27, as the Comets claimed their first outright conference title since 1974. After trailing 20-6 early in the second quarter, Olivet took a 23-20 lead at the halftime intermission; the Comets then capped off the contest with 21 unanswered points on a trio of Damorria Lilly (Sr., RB, Warren, Mich.) rushing touchdowns. Lilly finished with 203 of Olivet's 277 rushing yards. Braden Black (Sr., QB, Battle Creek, Mich.) passed for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
• Alma concluded their season with a 31-27 home victory over Adrian Nov. 12, marking the first time since 2006 the Scots prevailed over the Bulldogs. Alma came back from a 20-3 halftime deficit thanks to two touchdown runs by Caleb Reinhart (Jr., RB, Montrose, Mich.) and an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown by Jacob Chittenden (Sr., DB, Spring Lake, Mich.). Defensively, three players had double-figure tackles, led by Zac Peterson (Jr., LB, Holt, Mich.) and his 14 tackles.
• Kalamazoo ended the 2016 season with their first MIAA victory of the year, a 34-17 win over Albion Saturday. The Hornets never trailed, leading 20-3 at the half thanks to a trio of touchdowns via Alex White (Jr., QB, Litchfield, Mich.); one rushing and two passing. White finished with 224 yards passing with three touchdowns. Jakob Frederick (So., LB, Spring Lake, Mich.) had a game-high 16 tackles, including 11 solo efforts, while notching 2.5 sacks.
• Hope held non-conference foe Concordia (Wis.) to -13 yards rushing while grinding out 436 yards on the ground of their own on the way to a convincing 31-6 victory Saturday afternoon. The Hope defense tallied 11 tackles for loss, including five sacks, and grabbed two interceptions along with a forced fumble in holding Concordia in check. Mike Miklusicak (Jr., RB, Wayland, Mich.) rumbled for 259 yards with two touchdowns, while teammate Brandan Campbell (Jr., RB, Otsego, Mich.) added 167 yards rushing with two more touchdowns.
