Olivet Football to Face John Carroll in NCAA First Round

The Olivet College football team will face John Carroll (Ohio) Saturday, Nov. 19 in the NCAA Division III Football Championship First Round. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. ET at Don Shula Stadium in University Heights, Ohio.

Olivet, the MIAA champion after a 6-0 record against conference foes, posted a 9-1 record; those nine victories are in a row after losing the season opener to St. John Fisher College, and also tie a program-best for wins in a season.

This is Olivet's second-ever appearance in the national tournament; the Comets made the field in 2007 and lost in the first round to Central (Iowa) College.

John Carroll (9-1) made waves Saturday with their 31-28 victory over Mount Union, ending the Purple Raiders' streak of 112 consecutive regular season victories. With the win, John Carroll won the Ohio Athletic Association's automatic berth.

The winner of Olivet/John Carroll will take on the winner of Stevenson (9-1) and Wesley (8-2) with date, time, and location to be determined.
