Hope’s Offensive Line Earns National Honors from D3football.com

FREELAND, Mich. – Five Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football players earned national accolades Tuesday (Sept. 20) from D3football.com for their performances last Saturday.

The Hope offensive line of Matt Reitsma, Justin Fairfield, Michael Stephan, Jake VanderVeen, and Tyler Kirchoff were named to D3football.com’s National Team of the Week in aiding the Flying Dutchmen to their victory against Concordia-Chicago Sept. 17.

The quintet was a main cog in the Hope offense that churned out 518 yards of rushing in the 57-28 victory, with the rushing total ranking as the best single-game team total in NCAA Division III thus far this year. Three Hope players totaled over 150 yards on the ground in the game.
