On Tuesday (April 3), Adrian's Tommy Parsons (Sr., New Albany, Ohio) received his first national weekly honor of the season with his inclusion on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for performances from March 26-April 1.
Parsons tied the school record with his sixth career shutout in a 1-0 complete-game victory over archrival Kalamazoo. Throwing a three-hitter, 44 of his 68 pitches went for strikes, finishing with seven punch-outs to move into third place on Adrian's all-time strikeouts chart with 215. He allowed just one baserunner past first base and the pinch-runner was promptly picked off at second--his second of the game.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its seventh season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
