Adrian 3, Hope 2

The Adrian baseball team needed just one game to punch their return ticket to the NCAAs as the Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Hope Friday afternoon in the championship game of the 2018 MIAA Baseball Tournament.

Adrian freshman Trey Miller turned in three innings of relief to earn his first career win, holding Hope hitless with just one walk; teammate Tommy Parsons gathered his first save of the season, taking the mound for the ninth inning with one strikeout.

Hope put two on the board in the fourth inning on a two-run double from Brant Kym. Adrian answered in the fifth with runs by Dugan Darnell and Jason Croci before Brady Wood's one-out double scored Zack Zschering for what proved to be the game's decisive score.

Adrian will find out their NCAA opponent when the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship field is released Sunday, May 13, at 11:59 p.m.
