MIAA Athletes of the Week - December 31, 2018
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the student-athletes selected as Athletes of the Week, for the week of competition ending on December 30, 2018. 
 
The MIAA Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by coaches following one week of competition, and selected by a panel of MIAA Sports Information Directors, including the MIAA Director of Media Relations.
 
This week's winners are listed below with their respective achievements during last week's competition. 

Caden Ebeling, Albion
Junior, Forward
Shelby, Mich.

Ebeling tallied a double-double of a career-high 31 points to go with 11 rebounds in Albion's 73-63 loss to Bluffton Dec. 29 in the championship game of the Bluffton McDonald's Holiday Tournament to lead all players in both categories. Ebeling shot 9-of-12 from the field and 13-of-15 from the free throw line in the contest while adding two blocked shots. Ebeling, who garnered all-tournament team honors on the weekend, added five points, eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals in 19 minutes of play in Albion's 94-53 victory over Grove City Dec. 28.

Francesca Buchanan, Hope
Senior, Forward
Grant, Mich.

Buchanan was named Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive week, this time earning the honor at the Ohio Wesleyan Bishop Classic/Hoops for Hope tournament Dec. 28-29. Against No. 16/19 UW-Oshkosh Dec. 28, Buchanan had a game-high 18 points to go with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in handing the Titans their first loss of the season. Then, in the title game against host Ohio Wesleyan Dec. 29, Buchanan again led all scorers with 23 points while adding seven rebounds and a steal on the way to Hope's 73-44 road win.
