Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week


Mark DeJong, Calvin

Senior
Grand Rapids, Mich.

• Won the Calvin Knight Invitational Sept. 9, leading the nationally-ranked Knights to a first-place finish with a time of 25:08 on the 8K course

• Calvin competed against NCAA Division II Grand Valley State as well as Ohio Northern, ranked second in the Division III Great Lakes Region

Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week


Katie Diekema, Calvin

Kenmore, Wash.

• Won the Calvin Knight Invitational Sept. 9 with a time of 17:46 over 5K, winning by eight seconds

• Calvin was the top NCAA Division III team in the field, finishing fourth behind one NCAA Division II and two NAIA nationally-ranked opponents
