• Wrapped up three sacks for 25 yards

Player of the Week

Braden Black, Olivet

Senior, QB
Battle Creek, Mich. 

• Commanded Olivet's offense in 35-6 victory over Kalamazoo Oct. 8

• Guided the team's attack with 260 yards passing with three touchdowns

• Connected on first 10 passing attempts of the game, finishing 25-of-35 for a 72 percent completion rate

• Had two key rushes in the red zone on Olivet's first scoring drive to set up an Olivet touchdown

• Had three punts for 164 yards in 28-21 win over Lakeland (Wis.) Oct. 8

Specialist of the Week

• Guided Hope's offense with 10.43 assists per set in a 2-0 week for the Flying Dutch

• Racked up 45 assists in four-set victory over Kalamazoo Oct. 4

• Added seven kills, 15 digs, one block and one service ace on the week

• Did not have an attacking error or BHE in win over Alma Oct. 7

• Was a main cog in Alma posting two MIAA shutout wins on the week

• Part of Alma defense that gave up just eight shots and two shots on goal against Adrian Oct. 5 in 1-0 win

• Against Hope Oct. 8, held the home team to only four shots on goal in 2-0 road victory

• Alma moved into second place in the MIAA standings with six points on the road

• Won the 15-team Lansing Cross Country Invitational Oct. 7 

• Was victorious with a time of 18:15.3 to win by 37 seconds

• Her time was a 39-second improvement from last season's effort on the same course and led Alma to a fourth-place finish

Men's Golf

• With his 77-74--151 at the season-ending MIAA tournament Oct. 7-8, improved his season stroke average to earn second-team all-MIAA honors

• Tied for sixth in the two-day event; his two-over 74 on Saturday was tied for fourth-best round on the day

Women's Golf

Golfer of the Week

Megan Klintworth, Hope

Jackson, Mich. 

• Was the medalist at the two-day MIAA tournament Oct. 7-8, shooting a seven-over 151

• Her two-over 74 on Friday helped Hope post the first-ever sub-300 score for a team at a MIAA event in women's golf history

• Led a 1-2-3 finish for Hope in the final event to aid her team to the title while securing fall MVP honors
