MIAA Announces Athletes of the Week for Sept. 12

On Monday, the MIAA awarded 13 weekly honors for standout performances in football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's golf.

Earning MIAA Player of the Week honors for Sept. 12 are:

• Passed for 172 yards while rushing for 103 more yards in Alma's 31-20 victory against Manchester Sept. 10

• Rushed for three touchdowns while averaging 5.2 yards per carry

• Added a 35-yard receiving touchdown to score 24 of Alma's 31 points

• Went 11-for-31 passing with a long of 54 yards

• Posted 12 kills without an error in 19 attack attempts to go with two service aces against Albion Sept. 7

• Finished the week with 14 kills and five blocks in three-set win against Saint Mary's Sept. 10

• Turned in two triple-doubles for the week, both coming in five-set wins over MIAA opponents

• In win over Albion Sept. 10, had 22 assists and 19 digs to go with 11 kills in Alma's five-set victory

• Against Olivet Sept. 9, handed out 22 assists while logging 12 digs and 16 kills in a five-set win

• Added four service aces

• Scored in both of Hope's MIAA contests on the week

• Set the tempo with her goal in the seventh minute in road draw against Kalamazoo Sept. 6

• In 3-1 win over Adrian Sept. 10, made key plays to help in Hope's first two goals and then scored her second of the week in the 31st minute

• Leads Hope in scoring with 11 points this season

• Earned medalist honors at Hanover College Invitational Sept. 10-11, leading Saint Mary's to team title

• Led the field with a 77 on Sunday, good for a collegiate best score for the freshman

• Shot a one-over 37 through nine holes in weather-shortened first round of the event
