The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) named Trine goalkeeper Kristina Veljovic the league’s Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches through Oct. 4. 

Veljovic, a sophomore from Valparaiso, Ind., made a dozen saves in a 2-1 setback to Alma last week. It marked her second straight match that was extended into overtime where she logged 11 or more saves.  Veljovic owns one shutout this season and a 1.58 goals against average in 2015.
