Taylor Nelson of Albion earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women’s lacrosse Player of the Week honors on Monday for games through April 17.

Nelson, a sophomore from Simi Valley, Calif., won defensive honors after leading a strong week from Albion defenders in a pair of conference wins away from home.  Nelson and the Briton defense held their opponents to eight total goals on the week.  Active in both contests, she recorded five ground balls and caused three turnovers on the week while directing the Albion defensive unit. Nelson also was active on offense with an assist in the victory at Saint Mary’s and a shot on goal at Calvin.
