Ross Kynast of Albion claimed Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) men’s tennis Player of the Week honors on Tuesday for matches through April 24.
Kynast, a senior from Highland, finished the week with an unblemished 4-0 record after winning a pair of conference matches at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Britons. He won both singles matches in straight sets, never giving up more than six games in a contest.
Against Hope, Kynast posted the only produced both points for Albion in a 7-2 setback. He posted a 6-4, 6-2 singles win at the top spot. Kynast and doubles partner Zach McKenzie rolled to an 8-2 victory in the first position to account for the two team points.
Kynast also shined on senior day with a pair of victories against Trine. The top senior notched a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. The Briton duo recorded an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles to secure Albion’s 6-3 victory.
