Alyssa Wright of Albion garnered Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through Feb. 21.
Wright, a senior from White Pigeon, captured field athlete honors after setting set a school record in the weight throw at the Hillsdale Tune-Up on Saturday. Wright placed fifth overall in the event with a throw of 45-3 - the top measurement from a Division III competitor.
The inaugural MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for Saturday, Feb. 27 at Trine.
