Erin Herrmann of Hope claimed the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through Feb. 14.

Herrmann, a junior from Wheaton, Ill., achieved track athlete honors after setting a Flying Dutch program record in the 3,000 meter run at the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Friday. She bested her own previous school record by more than 13 seconds with a time of 9:52.98 to finish 16th out of 39 runners overall across all divisions. Herrmann’s time is the fourth-fastest indoor finish in the event this season in Division III.
