Sebastian Tostado of Albion earned the Men’s Swimmer of the Week Award from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Monday for meets through Jan. 31.

Tostado, a junior from Mexico City, Mexico, broke three pool records at Olivet while en route to a trio of individual event titles. His time of 46.9 in the 100 freestyle broke the 2013 record by .36. 

He shaved off more than a second in his other two record-setting performances. Tostado posted a winning time of 1:44.51 in the 200 freestyle. He also touched the wall first in the 200 IM, clocking in at 1:57.69.

Tostado’s wins helped Albion edge Wooster men by 15 points, and topple host Olivet in the dual meet on Saturday. 

It marks the second Swimmer of the Week award for Tostado this season. He previously won the honor on Oct. 26.
