Kara Eck of Trine garnered Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through April 3.
Eck, a sophomore from Auburn, Ind., earned field athlete honors after a pair of top-four finishes at the Hanover Invitational last weekend. She moved into the top 10 nationally in NCAA Division III with a hammer throw distance of 160-02 to place fourth at the meet. Eck finished third in the shot put with a toss measuring 41-04.5.
