Jephte Jean-Claude of Albion earned the Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through April 24.
Jean-Claude, a freshman from Traverse City, claimed field athlete honors after winning the triple jump at the Polar Bear Invitational at Ohio Northern last weekend. His leap of 45-1.50 took first place honors by more than nine inches in a field of 13 jumpers. The jump ranks first the top five in the conference, all performed by Jean-Claude. He was also active on the track, winning the 110 meter hurdles (15.22) and running the second leg of Albion’s second-place 4x100 meter relay team.
