Jephte Jean-Claude of Albion collected Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through March 27.

Jean-Claude, a freshman from Traverse City, earned field athlete honors after a pair of top-two finishes in jumps at the Dick Small Invitational hosted by Defiance last weekend. He won the triple jump with a leap measuring 43-2.5 (13.17m). Jean-Claude also placed second in the long jump with a distance of 19-8.75 (6.01m). He also placed ninth in a third field event, throwing the javelin 122-0.75 (37.20m). On the track, he also placed fourth in the 100m hurdles.
