Michaela Meckes of Calvin earned Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through April 24.

Meckes, a junior from Bay City, won field athlete honors after throwing the top discus distance in the league this season at the Al Owens Classic at Grand Valley State last weekend. Her throw of 132-3 placed No. 12 overall as the top Division III mark in the event. Besides topping the conference, the measurement also ranks No. 46 nationally.
