Alma linebacker Zac Peterson earned Football Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association for games through Oct. 4.

Peterson, a sophomore from Holt, won Defensive Player of the Week accolades. He posted 13 tackles, including eight solo stops, in the Scots’ 21-20 loss to Trine on Saturday. Peterson recorded two tackles for a loss including one quarterback sack and finished with the only quarterback hurry for Alma. He currently ranks eighth in the NCAA rankings with 41 tackles including 23 solo efforts and stands fifth nationally with 6.5 sacks this fall.
