Jack Clark of Kalamazoo claimed Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Baseball Player of the Week honors on Monday for games through March 27.
Clark, a junior from Ann Arbor, won position player laurels after scoring a run in all six of Kalamazoo’s games last week to help lead the Hornets to their first four-game sweep of Albion in program history for a 5-1 week. He posted eight hits for a .471 batting average and knocked in five runs to go along with his nine runs scored. Clark reached base in five of six at-bats on four hits and a walk in a 12-inning 7-6 victory. He collected 10 walks on the week to produce an on-base percentage of .690. Playing every inning for Kalamazoo, Clark ended the week with no errors and a .588 slugging percentage.
