CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- The Trine University men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of Wabash College in a 1-0 decision in Crawfordsville, Ind.
Trine (2-1) recorded three shots in the first period, but all three shots were blocked as the two teams found themselves deadlocked in a 0-0 tie at the intermission.
In the second half, the Wabash (3-1) offense applied pressure to the Thunder defense with six shots taken by the Little Giants. The difference maker in the game came at the 69:24 minute mark when Wabash's Jacques Boulais found the back of the net to make the score, 1-0.
The lone goal was the only scoring in the half as Trine managed just a shot taken in the final 45 minutes which gave the home team the one-goal victory.
Freshman Taylor Medina (Mill Creek, Ind./Rochester) played all 90 minutes in net for Trine and allowed just the one goal, while making three saves.
Trine will be in action again tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 9) with a neutral site matchup against Franklin College in Crawfordsville, Ind. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
