Calvin Women’s Lacrosse Bows Out in NCAA Second Round

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Calvin women's lacrosse team’s historic season came to an end with an 18-2 loss to No. 18 St. John Fisher in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

It marked the Knights first NCAA Tournament game in program history after they secured an automatic bid following a 12-11 victory over Albion in the MIAA Tournament.

Calvin (12-6) got on the scoreboard against St. John Fisher (17-3) with 3:49 remaining in the first half. Freshman Emma Tilma recorded Calvin's first NCAA Tournament goal with an assist from classmate Kelly Pepper. Sophomore Amanda Davio put the ball in the back of the net with 3:16 remaining of off a nice pass from Emily Cefaratti.

Sophomore Madeline Baas finished with a game-high six draw controls and sophomore Alyssa Gagnon scooped a team-high three ground balls. Freshman goalkeeper Ellis Chalfant finished with 10 saves on the day.

The Knights finish the season by tying the program record of 12 victories set last season following a 7-1 mark in MIAA play.
