Trine’s Will Dixon Tabbed Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tabbed Will Dixon of Trine the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday for games through Nov. 29.

Dixon, a junior guard from Indianapolis, claimed Most Valuable Player honors at the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Invitational after averaging 26 points per game and shooting 55 percent from the floor last weekend in Pittsburgh, Pa.

In the tournament opener against Chatham, Dixon posted a game high total of 31 points. It marked his fifth career effort of posting 30 or more points in a contest. He hit 12-of-16 attempts from the field, including 3-of-4 from long distance in the victory. Dixon also made 4-of-5 from the line and added four boards, four assists as well as three steals for the Thunder.

In Trine’s 62-47 win over previously unbeaten Carnegie Mellon, Dixon added 21 points and four assists for the Thunder. He played 36 minutes hitting 10-of-24 field goals. He added four rebounds, all on the defensive end, and a steal in the victory over the host team.
