Two MIAA Baseball Players Attain Recognition on National Team of the Week

A pair of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) baseball players earned recognition on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, the website announced Tuesday.

Ryan Dorow of Adrian and Ryan Orr of Kalamazoo each claimed a spot on the national team this week.

Dorow, a junior from South Haven, extended his hitting streak to 21 games to help Adrian to a 4-1 week. He hit .556 from the plate and led the team with eight runs batted in; scored six times and hit his eighth home run of the season to lead the MIAA and move within two of tying the Bulldogs' career record of 25. The shortstop ranks first in the MIAA with 55 hits, 48 RBI, 87 total bases and stands second with a .420 batting average. Previously Dorow claimed D3baseball Team of the Week honors on March 8.

Orr, a sophomore from DeWitt, collected the Team of the Week honor a day after claiming MIAA Player of the Week recognition for the second straight week. The right-hander tossed a complete-game no-hitter in his only outing of last week. He secured the Hornets' 2-0 victory on the road at Olivet Saturday by registering nine strikeouts while not allowing a walk, hit or run. Orr faced the minimum number of batters and only racked up 67 pitches in his seven innings of work. In his last two starts combined, he has surrendered just one run and struck out 17.
