All-MIAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Team Announced; Trine’s Eck and Adrian’s Dolphin Receive Most Valuable Honors

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its All-MIAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Team on Thursday.

Trine thrower Kara Eck, a sophomore from Auburn, Ind., claimed Most Outstanding Field Performer honors at the MIAA Field Day. She set an MIAA record to claim win second conference title in as many days. Eck threw a distance of 47-3.75 inches to win the shot put and narrowly break the old meet record. Her throw ranks as the second-best in the nation. Eck also ranks fourth in the nation in the hammer throw. Eck also achieved a first-place finish in the hammer throw, winning the event with a throw of 175-1. 

Adrian sprinter Rachel Dolphin, a junior from Comstock, earned the Most Outstanding Runner award after winning three titles at the MIAA Field Day. She won the crowns for the 100-meter dash (12.43) and the 200-meter dash (25.91). Dolphin also anchored the Bulldogs’ 4x100 meter relay team that finished with a first-place time of 49.08, marking the second consecutive year Adrian finished first in the event.
