Hornets Assist Habitat for Humanity

Thirteen members of the Kalamazoo College athletics staff partnered on a work project with Habitat for Humanity in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, July 11.

Coaches and administrators spent the day doing a lot of foundation work for the house, including laying radon mitigation piping and spreading out sand to get ready for plumbing and pouring of the concrete floor.

The group also set up forms for the pouring of the concrete porch and finished the wood floor for the shed on the property.

Becky Hall, Kalamazoo's new athletic director in her second week on the job, was one of the volunteers.

"It was a great day working alongside so many of our Kalamazoo College athletic staff members while serving our community," Hall said. "K athletic teams have a rich history of serving our community, and I look forward to continuing this practice and exploring other ideas on how to serve and make a difference within our community."
