MIAA Historian Page

Information about the rich history of America's oldest college conference is expanding on this website of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).

League historian Tom Renner has undertaken the ambitious project of adding standings, statistics and results in all 25 league sports, 25 of them currently sponsored and 2 that have been discontinued over the years. The goal is to go back to the beginning of each sport. It has already been accomplished in several sports and progress is being made in others.

We are fortunate to have a rich trove of information compiled by several people over the years including Thomas Oliver, Philip Gentile, Randy VandeWater, James Cooper, Dick Kishpaugh, Gordon Beld, George Mather, Bob Wagner, Thomas A. Myers and Greg Chandler.

The Joint Archives of Holland, hosted on the campus of Hope College, is the official repository of MIAA historical materials.

We invite the submission of materials to enhance the MIAA archival collection and historical postings on this website. Please contact the Director of Media Relations, Sheila Morrigan with historical questions and any historical submissions at morrigan@miaa.org.
