Gomoluch, MIAA Coordinator of Softball Officials, Receives National Accolades

Bill Gomoluch, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's coordinator of softball officials and long-time fastpitch softball umpire, was named the 2018 Umpire of the Year by the National Pro Fastpitch League in coordination with the conclusion of the league's 2018 season.

"The MIAA is fortunate to have an umpire of Bill's quality to train and lead our softball crews," MIAA Commissioner Penny Allen-Cook said. "His expertise and longevity are our benefit."

Golomuch has served as the MIAA's coordinator of softball officials since 2006 and has been umpiring collegiate softball since 1989. He continues to umpire intercollegiate softball contests along with working at the professional level.

Golomuch, a native of Deerfield, Mich., was featured in a story on lenconnect.com after receiving his honor.
