2021-22 MIAA Champion Determination

MIAA Commissoner's Cup 

Criteria for the MIAA Commissioner's Cup in 2021-22 shall be based on participation in eight men's sports and eight women's sports. Separate all-sports awards will be presented in men's and women's sports. The women's award will be based on participation in eight of 11 sports; the men's award will be based on participation in eight of 12 sports. Points are awarded according to regular season standings. The Commissioner's Cup award is determined by adding the totals of the men's and women's all-sports awards.


Baseball

The MIAA baseball champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.


Basketball (Men & Women)

The MIAA basketball champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Basketball Championship.


Cross Country (Men & Women)

The MIAA cross country champion shall be determined solely by the outcome of the end-of-season MIAA championship meet.


Football

The MIAA football champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The regular season champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Football Championship.


Golf (Men and Women)

The MIAA golf champion shall be determined based upon lowest total cumulative strokes in MIAA fall conference matches. The four-team, three-round MIAA spring tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Golf Championship.


Lacrosse (Men and Women)

The MIAA lacrosse champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Lacrosse Championship.


Soccer (Men and Women)

The MIAA soccer champion shall be determined by a point system in which teams earn three (3) points for an MIAA regular season win and one (1) point for an MIAA regular seasn tie. The team with the most points at the end of the season will be declared the champion. The MIAA tournament champion will automtaically qualify for the NCAA Division III Soccer Championship.


Softball

The MIAA softball champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Softball Championship.


Swimming and Diving (Men & Women)

The MIAA swimming and diving champion shall be determined solely by the outcome of the end-of-season MIAA championship meet.


Tennis (Men and Women)

The MIAA tennis champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference dual matches. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Tennis Championship.


Track and Field, Indoor (Men and Women)

The MIAA indoor track and field champion shall be determined solely on the outcome of the MIAA championship meet. 


Track and Field, Outdoor (Men and Women)

The MIAA outdoor track and field champion shall be determined solely on the outcome of the MIAA championship meet, also known as Field Day.


Volleyball

The MIAA volleyball champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play. The MIAA tournament champion will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.


Wrestling

The MIAA wrestling champion shall be determined based upon best won-loss record in MIAA conference play.
